The Autostart Feature

Windows has a possibility to start programs automatically when computer starts or user logs into the system.

To do it you can create autologin setting and add the program shortcut to the autostart folder.

How to Login User Automatically

Note. Your password must not be empty.

Press Win+R or click to Start → Run.

On Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and later type: netplwiz

On Windows XP type: control userpasswords2

Follow the settings (you will enter the autologin user password there).

Add the Program Shortcut to the Autostart Folder

Just copy the program shortcut to the Autostart folder in Start menu.

On Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and later this folder is located here:
C:\Users\Your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

For all users use this folder:
C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
